D. Patton White
D. Patton White, originally from Colorado, relocated to Atlanta in 1979 to attend Emory University, where he received a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy. Since graduating in 1983, White has pursued a career in the arts including choreography, dance performance, costume design, photography, videography and installation-based sculpture. His work has been produced locally, regionally and nationally, and he has performed all over the world. He has worked with numerous arts organizations, including the Atlanta Ballet II, Dance South, The Georgia Ballet, Lee Harper & Dancers, The Ruth Mitchell Dance Theatre (now Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theater), Theatre of the Stars, Theatre Gael and many others. He joined Core Dance in 1992 as a company dancer and in 2008 shifted into the role of Artistic Associate and the Company Manager for Core Dance. Outside of Core, Patton has led Beacon Dance as Artistic/Administrative Director since 1990, is currently on the faculty of Emory University, and has served on numerous non-profit Boards.
