CORE hosts class with visiting artists
Performances, and more that week: see schedule (PDF)
CORE is involved with this contemporary dance event as a host to visiting artists from Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, who will be performing at the Rialto Center for the Arts on January 27 and 28. (The photo is from KEIGWIN + Company, another visiting group.)
The Rialto Center and Kennesaw State University take the leap this January with a cutting-edge contemporary dance experience in partnership with gloATL/Lauri Stallings, Curator. Stallings is shaping the week-long occasion through a single curatorial thread: the moving of things permits the formation of identities. This new and exciting swarm of art and movement will present itself through a myriad of initiatives that are free to the public: a comprehensive artist-to-artist exchange series; a two day affair of performance-based works by nine Atlanta artists (“EDGE/Public”); a conversation series, (“EDGE/Zak”); a week-long residency with Israeli modern dance legend Rina Schenfeld, youth outreach initiatives (“EDGE/Backstage”), a visual art exhibition in the Rialto lobby (“EDGE/2D”),and more. The highlight of this inaugural contemporary performance event is the International Guest Artists Series, which features two nights of performances on the Rialto stage. Off the EDGE is one that will move the movers.
