Vibrant original dance reflecting our essential needs as we journey between the frantic and still moments of our lives
Presented as part of CORE’s 25th Season in Decatur, the company will premiere two original contemporary dances by CORE’s Founder and Artistic Director, Sue Schroeder: The Point, choreographed by Schroeder, and The Moment Between, co-created by Schroeder and former CORE dancer and independent dance maker jhon r. stronks. Music for both pieces was created by German composer, Christian Meyer.
Inspiration for The Point comes from writings of experimental novelist Raymond Federman and conceptual artist Sol LeWitt’s wall drawings. The Moment Between draws on William Forsythe’s Improvisation Technologies and the Buddhist concept of Emptiness.
